Sunday Concert Series
The Newstead House Sunday Youth Concert Series began in 1999 when Friends of Newstead Inc. sought to provide an opportunity to showcase the talents of the young people of South East Queensland.
In 2001, this concept was broadened to become the Newstead House Sunday Concert Series with a number of free public concerts by community-based bands contributing to the yearly programmes.
In 2008, concert details are as follows…
- Sunday, 18 May. Students in Brisbane State High School’s Instrumental Music Program which encompasses strings, woodwind, brass and percussion, will be performing.
- Sunday, 8 June. The Queensland Day Concert, commemorating 149 years since the Signing of Letters’ Patent.
- Sunday, July 20. Runcorn State High School instrumental music groups will be performing
All concerts commence at 2.30pm unless otherwise advised and are held on the western lawns adjacent to Newstead House. The concerts are free and visitors are invited to bring a folding chair or rug...
